With the news that former “Passions” star and 1991 Miss USA Kelli McCarty would be starring in a porn flick for Vivid called “Faithless,” we thought we’d look at some other actors with legitimate careers who transitioned from mainstream media to the adult film biz. Though some of the folks on our list made the switch to porn intentionally — usually as means to support an escalating drug addiction — most ended up in Pornville thanks to some voyeuristic tendencies and careless tape-keeping. You won’t find Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Jenna Lewis or Chyna here, since, well, none of them really had/have legitimate acting careers. And say what you will about Pam Anderson’s acting chops, she starred on two, count ‘em, two, popular shows before becoming an unwitting porn queen.

Who: Pamela Anderson
Mainstream credits: The blonde bombshell transitioned from modeling to a brief role on the sitcom “Home Improvement” before spending six seasons in a bathing suit on “Baywatch.”
Adult career: After a private video with then-hubby Tommy Lee was stolen from a safe in their home, the video got a commercial release, paving the way for the celebrity sex tape trade that exists today. A second tape of the actress with old boyfriend Bret Michaels also surfaced, but to far less fanfare. And far less penis size.

Who: Bob Crane
Mainstream credits: Starred for six seasons on “Hogan’s Heroes” for which he was twice nominated for an Emmy.
Adult career: Crane’s sexual exploits were the subject of the 2002 film “Auto Focus,” which portrayed the once church-going family man as a sex addict with a penchant for video equipment. In a case that was never solved, the actor was bludgeoned to death in 1978.

Who: Dustin Diamond
Mainstream credits: For over a decade, Diamond played the wimpy nerd Screech on “Saved by the Bell.”
Adult career: A collector and trader of homemade sex tapes with his buddies, Diamond appeared in one himself thanks to a horny bride-to-be and her bridesmaid after a bachelorette party. The result, “Screeched,” is notable for two reasons: one, its execution of a Dirty Sanchez, and two, Screech has maybe the biggest Kapowski you’ve ever seen.

Who: Colin Farrell
Mainstream credits: “S.W.A.T.,” “Alexander” and “In Bruges,” for which he earned a Golden Globe nomination.
Adult career: A sex tape with Farrell and Playboy model Nicole Narrain surfaced in 2003 but was eventually barred from being released. Though not issued commercially, the 14-minute film hit the Internet via file-sharing programs and revealed sides of the actor fans hadn’t before seen.

Who: Jaimee Foxworth
Mainstream credits: Appeared for four seasons as Judy Winslow on “Family Matters” as well as the first season of “Celebrity Rehab” on VH1.
Adult career: Destitute and addicted to booze and pot, Foxworth appeared in a handful of adult films like “My Baby Got Back! 29″ under the name Crave.

Who: Kelsey Grammer
Mainstream credits: Starred for ages on “Cheers” before spinning off into the equally successful “Frasier”
Adult career: Though the tape was never released, Grammer sued porn company IEG who claimed they never intended to release it. Of the tape, which was made with a former flame before his success as an actor, Grammer told Maxim, “If you’re not prepared to do the time, don’t do the crime.”

Who: Rob Lowe
Mainstream credits: Lowe was a member of the Brat Pack, appearing in a slew of successful teen films in the 1980s like “St. Elmo’s Fire” and “About Last Night.”
Adult career: A video tape of Lowe and two women, one of whom was 16, stunted his budding career when it surfaced in 1988. In fairness, he’d met both women at a bar, with the teenager lying about her age to get in. For nearly a decade, Lowe disappeared from the public eye, but in the last decade he’s bounced back and has become a regular on several TV series including “The West Wing” and “Brothers & Sisters.”

Who: Scott Schwartz
Mainstream credits: Though you may not know him by name, if you grew up during the ‘80s you probably remember his roles in “A Christmas Story,” “The Toy” and “Kidco.”
Adult career: Mostly appearing as an actor in non-sex scenes, Schwartz eventually took the plunge into full-on sex in “Scotty’s X-Rated Adventure,” which he claims at the time made him the second-highest paid male actor after John Wayne Bobbitt.

Who: Tom Sizemore
Mainstream credits: The Golden Globe nominated actor starred in “Saving Private Ryan,” “True Romance” and “Natural Born Killers.”
Adult career: After a rocky relationship with famed Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss, Sizemore lost his mind in a methamphetamine haze and appeared in a sextape orgy which was later released commercially.

Who: Sylvester Stallone
Mainstream credits: “Rocky,” “First Blook” and the arm wrestling classic “Over the Top.”
Adult career: Sly’s first starring role was in a 1970 rated X film called “Party at Kitty and Stud’s” which he was paid $200 to appear in. The film’s title was later changed to “The Italian Stallion” after the actor found fame with “Rocky.” Though he doesn’t have intercourse in the movie, he does show off his Rambone, which Snopes.com calls a “quite ordinary, even modest endowment.”

Who: Verne Troyer
Mainstream credits: The 2′ 8” actor is most famous for having played Mini-Me in the series of “Austin Powers” films.
Adult career: In a vengeful move against her former beau, Ranae Shrider attempted to release a tape of she and Troyer having sex. The tape’s release was successfully blocked by Troyer and has yet to surface commercially, leaving closed for the moment that eternal question: Does Mini-Me have a Mini-Meat?
