4×4

The best thing outta Philly since Rocky (sorry cheesesteak!), The Loved Ones, have posted the first track from “Build & Burn” to their MySpace page. The album is out Feb. 5th on Fat Wreck, and if the first track, “Sarah’s Game” is any indication, their second LP will be just as crushing as their debut.
Stephen Egerton (Descendents) and Scott Reynolds (All) have started a new band called 40Engine, and their first demo is online now. It’s just the two of them so far, and the music sounds like the the early 1990s mid-period All records that Reynolds sang on, which are amongst the poppiest in the band’s catalog.
Laramie, Wyoming’s finest (only?) Teenage Bottlerocket have posted another song from “Warning Device” to their MySpace page. The band do that three-chord Screeching Weasel/Queers leather jacket pop punk thing as well as anyone ever, and both of their records are out now on Red Scare, who by the way, have been quietly amassing a really solid roster of bands.
Who knew Goldfinger were even still around? We figured they broke up when John Feldmann got rich producing tracks for Ashlee Simpson and Hilary Duff. But the band is back, having just posted the first song from their first record in 3 years, out this spring on Side One Dummy.
