Sasquatch Festival: Day Two

Day two of the Sasquatch Festival started out lovely enough with sets by Architecture in Helsinki, Sufjan Stevens and Iron & Wine amongst others — with the combat boots of day one’s NIN fans replaced by the rubbers-are-the-new-Uggs of day two’s indie rock (not very) elite:

Best overheard quote of the day: “Are Iron & Wine really hardcore?”
And then came the rain, followed by the hail, followed by the premature end of Neko Case’s set. With hail spitting from the sky, festival goers were forced to be resourceful to stay dry, like the modern-day MacGuyver below who told us, “I’ve done a lot for Coors over the years, I figured it was about time Coors did something for me.” Thankfully, he was able to avoid capture by the dreaded Beverage Enforcement Agents that patrolled the festival grounds.

When the music restarted, The Tragically Hip were anything but, the Shins were the shit, and the Flaming Lips and Ben Harper played the sun out of the sky signaling the end of day two. We’ll be back tomorrow for day three coverage, but Jesus this shit is tiring.
