Sasquatch Festival: Day Three

At least the sun was out for most of day three. It sprinkled now and again, but the dreaded hail of day two was nowhere to be found. Even the grounds of the Gorge showed nary a sign of the Ice That Nearly Killed Rock. And nary a sign of the hipsters that populated day two either, replaced with a slightly more Abercrombie & Fitch-looking set, who apparently go ga-ga for Beck.

While the sun shone, Nada Surf rocked, the Arctic Monkeys were British (read: cocky), the Decemberists were majestic (read: had interesting instrumentation and soaring melodies), Ben Lee was entertaining (read: we liked his set a lot), Rocky Votolato was earnest (read: twangy and wearing flannel), and Matisyahu was Jewish (read: Jewish). We didn’t stay for QOTSA, Death Cab or Beck, but don’t fret, plenty of other bloggers were much tougher than we were.
Finally back at YuppiePunk World HQ, we’re going to be celebrating memorial day with a festival of our own: sleeping, drinking hot tea, and enjoying the last days of VH1’s metal month. But we did enjoy ourselves, even if we didn’t get to see every act we’d hoped (Laura Veirs how we miss thee). But hopefully we can catch all of the main stage performances we missed (and a few that we didn’t) via MSN Video’s coverage of the event.
