‘Surreal Life 6′ Cast Announced
VH1 has announced who will star in the next season of its celebrity trainwreck “The Surreal Life.” And though it’s hard to believe, after just five seasons, the network may have actually run out of Z-list stars to cast. Here’s the scoop on the new installment which is slated to begin its run in January:
Sherman Hemsley – What, you mean those Denny’s commercials didn’t do enough to tarnish the fond childhood memories we had of you, George Jefferson? Is the residual money really not enough to live the good life on? Judging by the number of ex-sitcom stars who have appeared on this show in seasons past, those rerun checks must be pretty paltry.
Steve Harwell – At least Sherman Hemsley was once on the A-list. We wonder if the inclusion of the Smash Mouth singer on next season’s cast will warrant a reworking of the “All-Star” lyrics to go: “Hey now, you’re all washed up.”
C.C. Deville – The Poison guitarist is the one person on the next season that is perfectly cast. Poison never had any cred, so there’s really not much for the bleached blonde axeman to lose. He’s also a raging drunk, which is obviously an ideal trait in a reality TV star. Only Corey Feldman was better suited for this show.
Tawny Kitaen – Last seen doing cartwheels on the hood of David Coverdale’s Jaguar in Whitesnake’s “Here I Got Again” video, the ’80s video vixen makes a triumphant return to the small screen. Let’s hope they don’t leave her alone with that “Surreal Life” van.
Alexis Arquette – We don’t know much about Alexis Arquette other than he’s the least famous sibling in the Arquette clan (which is hard to do with David in the family), and that he’s a drag queen. Come to think of it, what else do we need to know?
Andrea Lowell – We’ve never heard of her, but there’s usually one skinny white girl each season you’ve never heard of (Caprice, Ryan Starr, Adrianne Curry) that really likes to skinny dip.
Florence Henderson – Not an official cast member, Mrs. Brady will be serving as the show’s on-call therapist and will appear on several episodes. Wait, she was married to a gay man and she’s the therapist?
There’s also a mystery reality TV hunk that apparently the cast members will be able to choose themselves from a pool of potential hunks. Rumours suggest it will be former WWE wrestler Maven. Our suggestion: Michael Essany.
