Totally Trishelle!
It used to be that if you were a reality star your 15 minutes of fame would begin and end soon after the last episode of your season aired (Eric Nies‘ pre-”Dance 360” grind-a-thon not withstanding). But these days that’s no longer the case. Reality stars are able to seamlessly segue from gig to gig with little lapse in between. On a hunch that TV audiences had an appetite for their favorite stars longer than the lifespan of a single season, MTV launched “The Real World/Road Rules Challenge,”which merged the casts of their two flagship reality programs into one giant audience pleaser. “Survivor: All Stars” reaffirmed this notion by scoring big ratings with recycled contestants. And a couple of new shows are capitalizing on the trend this summer, E!’s “Kill Reality” and Bravo’s “Battle of the Network Reality Stars.”
If this new phenomenon has a face it would have to be Trishelle Cannatella. Trishelle has become ubiquitous on reality TV. At any one time, you are almost guaranteed to find her half-naked on some cable TV station somewhere. She started her tour of duty on “The Real World: Las Vegas,” the most debaucherous season of the series ever. She followed that up with the requisite appearance on “The Real World/Road Rules Challenge,” which was followed by a stint on the D-list celeb car wreck “The Surreal Life.” Trishelle will also be appearing on both of the aforementioned summer all-star series’. In between all of these, she still found time to pose for Stuff and Playboy (NSFW) as well as appear on the upcoming season of “Celebrity Poker Showdown“. Not bad for a small town girl with small-time talent. In her defense (we never thought we’d say that), she is pretty, which seems like a no-brainer for a reality TV superstar. She’s also slutty (she made out with Andy Dick — on camera!), which seems to be the other preferred trait (bitchy can also be swapped in here). We think Trishelle should contact the Guinness Book of World Records, for if there were a record to be set for the most reality show appearances ever, she would surely claim the title.

How can you say that the original Real Worlders have no careers post their stint on MTV? Becky (the forgettable one from RW’s season 1) has “joined Cher, Alana Myles, Patti Smyth, Pat McDonald and Chris Difford at Miles Copeland’s famed songwriter’s retreat in his Chatteau Marrouatte in the Southwest region of France.”
Jeesh! Give a girl her props!
Oh, and Holla.
