Apparently on VH1 it’s not ok to hold your fingers to your mouth like you’re smoking a joint, but totally dandy to actually smoke one. At least that seems to be the case according to a recent episode of “Remaking” starring Vanilla Van Winkle Ice. Early in the show, Ice tells his physical trainer that he hasn’t been drinking, only smoking. As he says that, he pulls his fingers to his mouth as if hitting a joint. When he does so, the network pixelates his fingers to obscure the implication. Towards the end of the very same episode, as Vanilla prepares for his “comeback” performance, he takes a hit from an actual joint and blows the thick pot smoke from his lungs — pixel free. VH1’s decision here is a bit baffling. It seems to be not alright to imply you smoke weed, but totally bitchin’ if actually do. Equally baffling is the network’s decision to air this lame episode considering Mr. Van Winkle’s utter disdain for each and everything asked of him during the special. To Mr. Ice and VH1 we say L-A-M-E.
