Reality TV Star Website Review

Since reality TV has become little more than a stepping stone for good looking regular Joes to go from barista to Next Great Sitcom Star, it’s no surprise that most of the reality TV star websites do little more than offer up a badly written bio and a couple of headshots. Most of these folks even have agents. But isn’t the chance to buy a “Puck for President” baseball cap worth weeding through all the detritus? Yeah, we thought so too. Happy surfing!

Name: Richard Hatch
Show: “Survivor”
URL: http://www.richhatch.com/
Fun fact: Richard was charged with tax evasion after failing to report his $1 million reality TV windfall to the Internal Revenue Service. Oopsies.
Review: The FAQ section contains only a single FAQ. Plus, no full frontal shots of the dude.
Grade: C-

Name: Erin Elmore
Show: “The Apprentice 3″
URL: http://www.erinelmore.com/
Fun fact: For $15, you can score an autographed photo
Review: Lots of hot Erin pics, though sadly, none in skimpy clothes.
Grade: B-

Name: Austin Scarlett
Show: “Project Runway”
URL: http://austinscarlett.com/
Fun fact: Austin Lee Scarlett is infact his real name.
Review: Well designed and stylish, just like Mr. Scarlett.
Grade: B+

Name: Puck
Show: “The Real World: San Francisco”
URL: http://www.planetpuck.tv/home.php
Fun fact: Puck once spit in a fellow cast member’s face.
Review: Just like Puck, it doesn’t look like anything’s changed on the site since 1996.
Grade: C-

Name: Rebecca Cardon
Show: “The Amazing Race 6″
URL: http://www.rebeccacardon.net/
Fun fact: By the age of 17, Rebecca had set a world record in bench press.
Review: Super annoying music plays when you hit the homepage, but we forgive her since there are quite a few nearly naked photos posted.
Grade: B+

Names: Tim Beggy and Theo Vonkurnatowski
Show: “Road Rules”
URL: http://www.realityspot.com/inside/splash/
Fun facts: Timmy and Theo appeared on different seasons of MTV’s “Road Rules”
Review: Double the personality! Double the lameness!
Grade: D

Name: Omarosa Manigault Stallworth
Show: “The Apprentice”
URL: http://www.omarosa.com/
Fun fact: There’s nothing fun about Omarosa.
Review: Boooooooooooooooooring.
Grade: D

Name: Ralphie May
Show: “Last Comic Standing”
URL: http://www.ralphiemay.com/
Fun facts: Ralphie won a talent show at age 17 and got to open for Sam Kinison.
Review: The “American Beauty” parody that opens the site is super lame, though the media page ain’t too bad.
Grade: C

Name: Mike “The Miz” Mizanon
Show: “The Real World: Back to New York”
URL: http://www.mikethemiz.com/
Fun fact: The Miz’s top 5 movies of 2004 are “Ladder 49,” “Million Dollar Baby,” “Anchorman,” “Troy,” “Napoleon Dynamite”
Review: Mike reviews concerts and movies on his site. Here’s a bit of Mike’s Miz-dom: “I really like how the lead singer holds the mic. It’s different.”
Grade: B+

Name: Paige Davis
Show: “Trading Spaces”
URL: http://www.paigedavis.com/
Fun fact: Paige isn’t her first name, it’s Mindy. Paige is her middle name.
Review: We hate sites that insist on resizing our browser, however we’ll be forgiving since the site somehow sums up Ms. Davis’ unceasing bubbliness in the context of a website.
Grade: C+

Name: Ryan Seacrest
Show: “American Idol”
URL: http://www.ryanseacrest.com/
Fun fact: Ryan’s talk show “On Air” lasted only one season. Weird, huh?
Review: Seriously white bread (weird, huh?), though the site is chocked full of media, like this interview clip of Ryan asking probing questions to Lindsay Lohan.
Grade: B

YuppiePunk, out.
